How we handle your data when you visit this site.

Last updated: 18 August 2026.

Who we are

This site is operated by Silêncios & Canículas, Lda., Portuguese company tax number (NIPC) 518328694, share capital €10,000, registered at Rua Conselheiro Costa Aroso 555/557, Bloco C, Hab. 4.7, 4470-590 Maia, Portugal — the entity responsible for the personal data collected through this site.

For any question about this policy, or to exercise your rights, you can reach us by phone or WhatsApp at +351 911 817 887.

What data we collect

This site has no booking forms and does not process payments directly. When you contact us by WhatsApp or phone, that conversation happens on Meta's (WhatsApp) or your mobile carrier's platforms, and is not stored by us outside those apps.

Each house's availability calendar only looks up check-in and check-out dates — never your name, contact details, or any other personal data.

To understand how the site is used, we rely on an analytics tool, PostHog. This tool may collect pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and on-site interactions, through an identifier stored in your browser (a cookie or local storage).

Purpose and legal basis

We use this analytics data only to understand which pages work best, fix technical issues and improve the site — never for targeted advertising or to sell data to third parties.

This processing relies on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how the site works. You can object to this processing at any time by disabling cookies and local storage in your browser settings, or by using a tracker-blocking extension.

Sharing data with third parties

Analytics data collected by PostHog is processed by PostHog Inc., with infrastructure in the United States, subject to the safeguards required by GDPR for international data transfers. For more detail on how this company handles data, see PostHog's own privacy policy.

We do not share your personal data with other companies, and we do not sell it to third parties.

How long we keep data

We keep analytics data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, following the retention settings of our PostHog account.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access your data, request its correction or deletion, object to or restrict its processing, and request portability of data concerning you.

You can also file a complaint with Portugal's data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt, or with the data protection authority in your own country of residence.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us by phone or WhatsApp at +351 911 817 887.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit a site. This site only uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) tied to the analytics tool mentioned above — we do not use advertising or social media cookies.

You can manage or delete these cookies at any time in your browser settings. Instructions are available in the help pages of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge, depending on the browser you use.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy whenever necessary, in particular to reflect changes in how we handle your data or in applicable law. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
