We rent houses in Gerês because this is where guests actually want to spend the day: river water, shade, and a short drive back to a private pool. Casa de Fundões sits in that landscape already. The new house, opening at the end of October, looks over the Caniçada reservoir.
We would not send you to the other side of the park for a ‘must-see’ that eats the afternoon. The useful Gerês is the one you can reach from the house, still in time for a swim before dinner.
